Melinda Davis Nokes
Melinda Davis Nokes is a 1993
graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law were she was
granted Honors at Entrance. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
literature from the University of California at Irvine in 1990. Melinda is
admitted to practice in the States of California and Utah and is certified to
practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California,
and District of Utah.
Following stints as a law clerk with the Office of the California State
Public Defender and the Sacramento District Attorney's Office, Melinda joined
Lopez, Hodes, Milman & Skikos in 1993, where she began her career
as a lawyer. In 1998, Melinda left California for Utah where she practiced until
early 2001. She has now returned home to California and to Lopez, Hodes, Milman & Skikos.
In her eight years of practice, Melinda has successfully litigated many
medical negligence actions, including more than 30 mediations in medical
negligence and nursing home negligence cases that resulted in favorable
settlements.
Melinda played a key role with Lopez, Hodes, Milman & Skikos in
the Breast Implant litigation, assisting senior partner Ramon Rossi Lopez with
two trials. She also assisted Ramon with depositions of Bristol-Meyers Squibb
executives in connection with the Breast Implant Litigation MDL Plaintiff
Steering Committee. She has been wooed back to the firm to play an integral part
in the firm's continuing and growing commitment to pharmaceutical and medical
device mass torts and other complex litigation projects.
