Jeffrey A. Milman
Jeffrey A. Milman earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1978 at California State University at Fullerton and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego in 1981, where he was a member of the 1980-1981 Law Review; he also received a degree in Advanced Legal Education in California Evidence from the University of Southern California in 1990.
An expert litigator, Jeff's extensive trial experience lies in the areas of medical and professional negligence, product liability, and personal injury. Since joining the firm in 1996 he has successfully litigated hundreds of cases that have been resolved by verdict, arbitration award, or settlement. He has won many verdicts in the six and seven figure range, including the largest verdicts in Orange County history for a splenectomy case and a soft tissue injury in a motor vehicle case.
Jeff is the firm's resident expert in medical malpractice litigation against the Veterans Administration (VA) under the Federal Tort Claims Act. He currently is lead counsel in a number of such cases pending against the VA.
Jeff is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Orange County Bar Association (Chairman, Mandatory Fee Arbitration Committee, 1986-1993; Director, Lawyer Referral Service, 1994-1995; Vice Chair, Mandatory Fee Arbitration Committee, 1993-1996); State Bar of California, Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA); Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC); and, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (2004 President). He is past president of the Rotary Club of Coto de Caza/Rancho Santa Margarita.
Additionally, Jeff is a past editor of The Gavel, the monthly publication of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. He has written a number of articles on medical and medical-legal issues that have been published in law journals statewide and nationally. He is also an instructor in the Orange County Bar Association's College of Trial Advocacy and a frequent speaker for bar associations and other professional organizations on various medical and medical-legal topics.
