Thomas A. Schultz
Partner Thomas A. Schultz received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1987, and his Juris Doctorate with honors from Loyola University in 1990. He is admitted to practice before all of the courts of the State of California, as well as the United States District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California, and has been admitted pro had vice in various courts throughout the country.
Before joining Lopez, Hodes, Milman & Skikos, Tom was an associate of the late David Harney, Sr. who was nationally recognized as one of the country's best personal injury trial lawyers, and a founder of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
An aggressive litigator, Tom has extensive experience in complex litigation and is one of the firm's most versatile and seasoned trial lawyers. He has successfully litigated more medical malpractice cases than any other member of the firm, with the exception of Dan Hodes. In addition to heading up the firm's Zyprexa litigation and Guidant and Medtronic defibrillator and pacemaker cases in the Newport Beach office, Tom is the firm's lead attorney in the Investor Loss cases.
Over the last few years Tom also successfully spearheaded the firm's Sulzer Medica Hip and Ford/Firestone litigations. In his 14 year career Tom has resolved hundreds of cases, with gross settlements and/or verdicts totaling approximately $150 million.
Tom is a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), State Bar of California, and Orange County Bar Association. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of OCTLA and currently serves as a judge pro tem for the Orange County Superior Court system.
